Now that we have finally waved goodbye to Halloween and Bonfire Night, we can officially start counting down the days…
Next season is all about the time warp (no, not the rocky horror classic) but the trend time warp! It seems that this Autumn/Winter any decade will do – from the glamour of the 50’s to the loud and proud 80’s and beyond!
There is one era in particular that has already pushed itself to the forefront of this seasons trend battle, and that is the swinging 60’s! Channeling idols such as Catherine Deneuve, Twiggy, Jackie O and Brigitte Bardot this look is all about clean A lines, chic colour blocks, of course sky-high hemlines!
Picking up where Spring 2011 left off, the Autumn/Winter Catwalks were awash with cute A line styles, particularly A line Dresses and coats which were given an autumnal twist in shades of black, gold, rust, and mustard.
Other influences for this sixties style explosion can be seen in the most recent series of the hugely successful Mad Men, as well as The X Men: First Class installment which follows the characters in their sixties youth, and ‘The Kennedys’ starring Katie Holmes as Jackie O.
Very wearable and highly chic the sixties trend looks like its going to be big news for this autumn winter, so why not invest in a cute mini like the one below from Goddiva.co.uk and inject some Jackie O style glamour into your wardrobe.
Until next week, wishing you all a (hopefully warmer) and wonderful weekend.
